The saturated black colored woolly cap will remain dark for many years to come. Wool is bleached only to a minimal extent by the sun's rays, compared to cotton or linen fabrics. This cap has been tested to remain black for more than 10 years. The fine suede on the shade is made of goatskin, and will eventually get a nice patina. The leather can withstand all weathers, and can advantageously be dyed with shoe polish after 3-5 years of use. The inside of this cap is covered with the lining of a massive soft moleskine cotton fabric. Handmade in Germany, by Master Bullmann. In English-speaking countries, the shepherd's hat is also called a bucket hat. The fabric comes from an illustrious fabric weaving mill: Schürmann Schröder, which today is one of the oldest family companies in the German textile industry. This flatcap is quite narrow and is among the most modern flatcap designs that Master Bullmann has made in recent years. Bullani Mützen and Wilgart found that narrow sixpence caps are more fashionable in the current decade. Bullmann this narrow nice cap shape. In the past, sixpoence caps were a lot wider and had more volume, but today most people prefer this shape of the cap. My teacher Herr Bullmann always says that an artisanal and well-made piece of headgear sells itself without further introduction. The hardest thing when you as a craftsman have to sew this cap is to make the pattern of the fabric fit together. It takes many years of experience as a cap maker to master cutting and sewing after checkered fabric. Therefore, the cap makers who have sewn this flatcap are trained in Germany by Master Herr Bullmann who himself for over 35 years has sewn sixpence caps. The cap is of the highest quality. The secret to the amazing weather resistant cap lies in the production of the fabric, which uses the top 2% of the longest cotton fibers in the world. This water-repellent dark blue flatcap, is water resistant for some hours of moderate rain. However, it is not Water proof like (some) rainclothes are. The fabric provides good comfort because cotton as you might know, is a top fiber in terms of comfort and breathability.

We use GOTS certified organic moleskine cotton for the outerlayer and a recycled dyed sheet from Danish Steam Laundries for lining. The beautiful olive green soft moleskine cotton makes the cap durable and airy. The cap comes in a closed form, i.e. it is tailored directly to a good fit on your head. The baseball cap is 100% produced in Denmark, from sustainable materials.

The cap is handmade according to old cap-making traditions, which ensures high quality and the authentic feeling of good craftsmanship is evident when you stand with the cap in your hand. The leather brim gives the cap a rustic look, while the lightweight fabric and discreet buckle at the neck add distinctive character and quality.

The hardest thing when sewing a handmade cap is to have the leather pulled well over the bill, which consists of modern fibers, and then sew the leathercovered bill directly into the center of the cap. This cap is made by cap makers with more than 30 years of experience in the graceful craft trade. All headgear from Wilgart's hat shop is fixed size, so that each cap proportionally fits your head. This brown basecap is robust, warm, soft and in true natural materials. The brown wool basecap can be worn by most and is suitable for all headsizes.
