This lightweight headgear is made of pure new wool.
On the inside, the sailor cap has a soft and light cotton lining. The style is called Sailor cap, or among musicians it’s also refereed to as a Jazz cap. A sailorcap has no shadow, and is thus very useful on the windy oceans for all kinds of sailors and seafarers. It’s formidable sailing headgear. Sometimes the sailorcap is also referred to as a Dockers cap, skull cap or micki hat. When a headwear model gets as many different names as time goes by, you know it’s a real old classic. Read more about the cap under our blog post 7 popular caps for the modern man.
This harbor cap is handmade in Germany by my master Herr Bullmann.
Herr Bullmann is the craftsman from whom Wilgart learned to make headgear. Bullmann is the only capmaker left in his region in the northern of Germany, Bayern. Wilgart is keeping exclussive knowhow in headwear making and best practice craftsmanship alive through the same practice as the old Master. Wilgart collaborates with Master Bullmann on various projects within the traditional capmakers herritage and working for a common future for our hatshop and cap-workshop.
