Traditional flatcap of the classic Harris Tweed fabric. A historical fabric that has a number of distinguishing properties, including the colorful patterns, the traditional form of production, and where the craftsmen who weave the fabric come from the geographically defined archipelago, namely the Outer Hebrides in northern Scotland. The cap is for outdoor use, e.g. hunting or leisure, and the wool is very durable and partly also water resistant. The flatcap can be used at booth formal occasions, but also in everyday life.

A slightly oval-shaped bucket hat which follows the shape of the head, and has a minimal conical slope towards the top. The bucket hat is a classic for practical reasons, as it provides good shade from the sun. The bucket hat has through changing times belonged to a younger segment of wearers, has been taken up by various subcultures, but is today a cap / hat that everyone can enjoy. Here comes the bully hat in a summery, robust and mottled fabric that is breathable and comfortable on the head. Vintage and old bikes pass through the city and attract masses of enthusiastic Tweed lovers to the Tweed Ride. The hardest thing when you as a craftsman have to sew this cap is to make the pattern of the fabric fit together. It takes many years of experience as a cap maker to master cutting and sewing after checkered fabric. Therefore, the cap makers who have sewn this flatcap are trained in Germany by Master Herr Bullmann who himself for over 35 years has sewn sixpence caps. The cap is of the highest quality. The bucket hat originated in Scotland and was worn by sheep and goat herders, among others. There, it was known as a shepherd’s hat. The wide brim on this woolen round hat provides excellent protection from the sun. Our shepherd’s hat is made from woven fabric from the historic Donegal Tweed of 1866. This bucket hat is of the very highest quality. It retains its shape well and is versatile; it can be rolled up and packed in a suitcase.

This hat features all the typical characteristics of a genuine Bogart hat, including a clean, straight-cut brim and a classic black bow. The hat is handmade in Denmark. The hat comes including a beautiful hat pin with a piece of Bornholm granite. Choose from Almindingen, Paradise Hills or Rønne granite stone. The long needle with decorative knob is used as an ornament on a hat or cap. Wilgart's hat and cap pins are made with granite stones from Bornholm. Choose from the reddish Almindingen granite, or the grayish semi-dark Paradise Hill granite, or the all-black obscure Rønne granite. Wilgart's hat shop loves to use local produce, and you can even get a set of cufflinks in the matching granite. We also sell a locally produced leather case for both hat pins and cufflinks. Everything is produced on the sunshine island of Bornholm. The needle is a signature of Wilgart's hats, and is included when you buy our Fedora black hair felt hat. Sheep's wool felt is heavier than the slightly more obvious felt types such as rabbit or the even finer beaver felt. Nevertheless, wool felt costs less, and is therefore a good approach for beginners or people who are considering starting to wear a hat.
