An old-fashioned flatcap is wider and more voluminous than today’s trend. Typically, old caps are fuller, but the recent decades’ focus on streamlined design has made the historic wide caps more and more narrow and modern in shape. But here is a selection of our old-fashioned inspired flatcaps with good volume. Some models that were normal in the early 19th century will today be almost perceived as extravagant. Here is a selection of caps that has a iconic look that get you thinking of a time that once was.

      From the company Andersen & Berner comes here one of the classic men's (and lady's) hats, namely a Fedora felt hat in 100% beaver hair felt. The refined deep gray color, with the classic bow on the hat ribbon makes the hat dressy for most people. A beaver felt hat is considered an exclusive piece of bridle, and this hat is even handmade here in Denmark according to old hatter traditions and methods. Along with the hat, one of our hat pins is delivered with a piece of Bornholm Granite, as well as a hat box in solid cardboard. All three items, the hat, the hat pin and the hat box are made in Denmark.       From the company Andersen & Berner comes here one of the classic men's (and women's) hats, namely a Fedora felt hat in rabbit hair, The weight for the felt is about 90-100 grams which gives a light but still stable felt, which stabilizes shape and shape. This hat comes with all the typical characteristics of a real Bogart hat. I.e. a clean cut edge, as well as classic black bow. The hat is handmade in Denmark. The hat comes including a beautiful hat pin with a piece of Bornholm granite. Choose from Almindingen, Paradise Hills or Rønne granite stone.       Our cap with inner ear flaps is slightly wider than most flatcaps in our hat shop. It takes a little extra to fit the ear flaps to fit properly inside the cap. In addition, the earlobes have an incision, which makes the fabric spherical, and ensures that the flaps are snug around your ears and close to head. This cap is sewn according to artisanal traditions, and therefore has the highest standard in comfort and durability. The dark sixpence with earlobes is sewn in our neighbouring country Germany by skilled cap makers with more than 30 years of experience.

      Eightpiece cap, also called bakerboy or Newsboy cap, which is slightly narrower than our other selected eightpieces. All panels are of different Harris Tweed fabrics, with brown, green, and gray shades. The cap is made from the finest Scottish wool woven according to heritage traditions in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. The name of the cap is named after the nickname for a character in Lord of the Rings: A countryman named Strider, who later turns out to be a true king's son.

      The secret to the amazing weather resistant cap lies in the production of the fabric, which uses the top 2% of the longest cotton fibers in the world. This water-repellent dark blue flatcap, is water resistant for some hours of moderate rain. However, it is not Water proof like (some) rainclothes are. The fabric provides good comfort because cotton as you might know, is a top fiber in terms of comfort and breathability.
