Special warm and robust sailorcap in the classic Harris Tweed wool fabric from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Lovely warm headdress which stands out with its various mixed panels.
The colors and patterns in this skullcap may differ from those in the picture, as we use the residual fabrics that we have lying around in smaller quantities. However, the colors are aligned into two categories that become these two models:
- The grey/blue Sailor Toker Harris tweed mix
- The brownish Sailor Boromir brown tweed mix
Sailorcap with various pieces of Harris Tweed wool.
Sailorcaps or dockers caps as they are also called are a widespread phenomenon in the North. They are typically seen in urban contexts, but also in rural areas this basic headwear is widespread. A cap constructed of six pieces of fabric that are assembled at the top, and with a folded edge all around.
The sailor cap is reminiscent of a beanie in its shape, but has a more refined and finer expression as it is sewn from woven fabric, rather than the knitted cap. You can read more about sailorcaps in our blog post 7 popular caps for the modern man
