This led to a boom in the growing English textile industry and helped popularize the flatcap. But this wasn\u2019t the last time a cap would be credited with driving growth and prosperity: A few hundred years later, as the concept of trademarks gained traction, one of the best places to display a logo was, of course, the cap.  <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why, starting in the 1960s, the baseball cap became a staple for everyone from large bank branches to small consumer cooperatives. High-end fashion houses sold ordinary baseball caps with their logos plastered on the front, and everything from bike races to breakfast food brands handed out free caps featuring their logos\u2014and the quality of them all was pretty much the same. <\/p>\n<p>But Wilgart intends to put an end to that.
